How about Shift + Ctrl + T which seems to be the default key combination?

Shortcuts are defined in "Edit - Key Shortcuts" (might be similarly named, my menus are in German.

Please let us know if this fixes your issue.

Thank you for replying. Ctrl+t actually was a typo.
Actually the bug occours with ctrl+shift+t. I never changed the shortcuts of my terminal.
I tried to change them now. Assigning ctrl+shift+z works (!). Changing back to ctrl+shift+t brings back the bug.
The new window shortcut it's currently ctrl+shift+n and works.

Could it be that you have that shortcut assigned to something else? For example, I cannot use Ctrl+1 in Thunderbird to open the mail window since Gnome uses that.
