I tried to reproduce this issue in Jaunty and is still occurring. I have added a bug watch to this report.

KGuitar has been removed from the archives for the upcoming 11.04 release as it is based on the obsolete KDE3 development platform. As such, no further bugfixes or improvements can be offered for this software. Thanks for the bug report all the same.
