Bug Description

Description: iwlwifi driver backport in DKMS format
 Intel works with periodic releases of the iwlwifi driver that are tested with
 a specific combination of components such as firmware and hostap. These
 releases can be seen as snapshots of the development trees (including
 upstream) that can be used on older kernels.

The dkms module as 7906-0ubuntu1 in the PPA seems not compatible with Ubuntu bionic. The build fails with two unrecognized flags which had been added here:

This has been resolved in my personal repo, and I can push to the ppa tomorrow. Should I keep the same version number as 7906-0ubuntu1 or use 7906-0ubuntu2 instead?

dput 8042-0ubuntu1 instead for 7906 no longer builds against latest v5.3 kernel in Eoan, and we'll need a newer version to enable 802.11AX adapters anyway. This should compile on B/C/D/E.

Hi, thank you for landing version 7906 into eoan-proposed. Is there some next step we should take? Since 7906 doesn't compile on Bionic, shall we have a version upgrade to 8042 in eoan first and then do SRU?

Hello, your repo version (8042) is working perfectly fine on Ubuntu 19.10 with kernel 5.3.0-18-generic, thank you for your work, really appreciate.
Note that the official version (7906) wasn't compiling too on eoan.

FYI, Eoan backport has also been completed and Bionic in bug 1856024. No further work to do here.
