hardy toshiba_acpi: Unknown parameter `hotkeys_over_acpi'

Is there any alternative for using hotkeys?

interestingly enough, when booting my Toshiba Tecra M9 off the current hardy live cd most hotkeys do smth.
Audio mute works, brightness up/down works (when not using nvidia drivers). Bluetooth e. g. does not work where it did ootb on gutsy.
FnFx might work, but I doubt it as toshset does not (will file a separate bug) due to missing kernel support.

the missing-kernel-config-for-toshset bug is already there: #181374

I'm not sure it is fully a duplicate of #181374, which does not provide any information beside tosshet does not work.
If I understand correctly, acpi-support is based on toshset that does toshiba_acpi calls.

I understand it might fix the brightness issue, but my problem is all my hotkeys for volume, suspend, locking, LCD out, internet browser ... etc brightness including are *not* working with my daily hardy system.

Maybe it is an upgrade issue then, if it works on a hardy live cd an not after upgrading from gutsy. But I expect a lot of users to upgrade their system.

I've tried to purge acpi-support, toshset, and linux-image-generic-2.6.24-7.12 but it still does not work. I can not understand the difference with a working live CD.

I also have the same issue on toshiba Satellite U200-163, with Hardy Heron apha6.
The volume buttons work, but the Fn keys (LCD light, suspend, wifi, etc ...) don't work. The others keys (power, internet, play, pause, stop) also doesn't work, whereas xev sees something for the power button.
