Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

I recently had a problem with Nautilus not recognizing my keyboard. When I would create a new folder I was not able to rename it as it refused to respond to keyboard input. They keyboard worked fine in all other cases. As I had recently installed Japanese Language Support (system - admin - language support) I thought there might be a connection so I uninstalled it (as well as unchecking "Enable support to enter complex characters) and after rebooting the problem was gone. I did not make many changes to the SCIM settings so it's possible there is an option that clears up the conflict. However, there does seem to be a conflict of some sort.

I submitted this as a question first. You can read the details https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/22104.
