Hi Alexander,

Sorry if this an obvious question but do you actually have a DVB device?

Thanks,

Michael

What you need: A working DVB card with drivers attached to your computer.

For the second time, do you actually have a DVB device? If so, what type/model/make is it.

Hi Michael,

I get the same issue. I have a Freecom DVB-T usb stick attached to my system running 64bit Gusty. I have the DVB device working with Mythtv and I wanted to try me-Tv.

On startup of me-tv I get a popup window saying somethng like I have "no device or it is busy".

Can you advise?

Issue solved at my end...

The problem was to do with the Mythtv backend application which is running all the time (I have a combined front and backend running on the same machine). The backend was hogging the dvb card. I had to stop the mythtv-backend service by:-

$ /etc/init.d/mythtv-backend stop

Then I was able to launch me-tv and was able to tune to channels.

Hi Dominic,

Nice to talk to you. I don't think that this is the same issue. I think that Alexander's issue is that he didn't have a correctly configured DVB device. Your issue sounds like the device exists but is being used, possibly by the MythTV backend. Have you shutdown the MythTV service? Sorry if this is already obvious to you. If you've already done this then we'll move on to the next step.

Thanks,

Michael

I'm closing this because I haven't heard back from this guy and I think his issue was that he didn't have a DVB card.

Peter,

In case you didn't understand, this is not an issue with Me TV, you don't have a free DVB device working under linux.

Thanks,

Michael
