Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox-3.0

Upon visiting http://www.gatech.edu , many things are unaligned or offset. This includes the navigational links near the top (Alumni, Business & Government, Current Students...), the pictures underneath them, and all the content on the page (as one can see the white background it is supposed to be resting on. This occurs on Gutsy FF2/FF3b2 and Hardy FF2/FF3b3pre and does not occur on the Windows versions of this browser.

I have made a broken website report on, http://reporter.mozilla.org/app/report/?report_id=RMO12008965058434

Can you provide a screenshot that demonstrates this? It renders fine on my system.

That's strange... With which OS are you testing the site with? Here's a screenshot.

On Ubuntu Gutsy, with FF2, I get a perfectly fine rendering. On Ubuntu Hardy, with FF2, I also get the right layout.

On Ubuntu Hardy/FF3.0b3pre, I see the same behavior as you do.

It also happens with http://www.tri-valley.k12.il.us/
I thought that it should be more general than just one site. Any others you notice?

I get this error on my WinXP's FF3b2 as well. As this is not an Ubuntu specific problem, you should report this as a broken site. To do this click on Help -> Report Broken Site.

Well the site I listed is fine on Windows.

please test if using the accelmethod "EXA" in your xorg.conf helps. If not check that "XAA" is broken too please.

Odd... it seems gatech has updated its website and this newer version doesn't show any problems. I guess we can close this bug (or focus on Nattgew's site?).
