Bug Description

Hi,

I got a message from Launchpad Mirror Prober saying that "The mirror content checker failed to locate the minimal set of files " on the mirror I administer which is http://mirrors.cytanet.com.cy/linux/ubuntu/releases/ (https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+mirror/mirrors.cytanet.com.cy-release)

The errors shown in log file http://launchpadlibrarian.net/11461523/mirrors.cytanet.com.cy-release-probe-logfile.txt
are not real errors because I checked the files listed there and all exists on my mirror.

Can you check why the Prober fails?

Regards,
Stylianos

Hi Stylianos,

My guess is that these files weren't there when the mirror was last checked (around 19h ago). Could this be the case?

Cheers

Hi Guilherme,

I run the update process on my mirror server once per day, as listed in the Types of Mirrors page (http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/mirror/1).

How much time does each mirror "has" in order to download new releases before the Mirror Prober starts to check if the mirrors are synchronized with the new releases?

Stylianos

Currently, the mirror prober (ran constantly and configured to probe each
mirror only once every day) is a completely separate process from the
publication of new releases (done as a one off every time we do a new
release), so there will be at most 24h between the publication of a new
release and the mirror being probed.

Since they're not synchronized in any way, though, We can't tell precisely
how long that interval will be.

Ok.

For the last few days the mirror I administer is not listed in the Full Download Mirror List, probably because of that Prober failure.

What do you suggest as a solution for this problem? Please take into account that the once per day synchronization is configured from the first day of Ubuntu mirroring on my server almost a year ago without any similar problem until now.

Stylianos.
