Hardy Heron: mplayer naming convention conflicts with debian package from svn mplayer

Bug Description

Hi,

There is a naming conflict between the Hardy Heron version of mplayer which identifies itself as:

2:1.0~rc2-0ubuntu7

and the debian package generated from the current svn mplayer which identifies itself from debian/changelog as

1.0svn

This leads to apt deciding that the svn version is in fact older than the repository version and installing 2:1.0~rc2-0ubuntu7 in place of the svn mplayer. An ugly fix for this is to alter the debian/changelog file from:

mplayer (1.0svn) unstable; urgency=low

to:

mplayer (3:1.0svn) unstable; urgency=low

or to 'fix' the package in Synaptic. I have approached the mplayer-users mailing list with this issue but was keen to see if something could be done from the Ubuntu end, particularly as Hardy Heron is still 'under construction'.

  Thanks for your trouble,

      Andrew

This is a wishlist bug against upstream generated package. Not a Ubuntu bug.
