Bug Description

The 64bit 7.10 live cd (ubuntu and kubuntu) fail after selecting either the install option or the safe mode option. The screen just goes blank, no text or error messages.

If the splash option is removed by editing the command (F6), the live cd works. I have tested this only on the ubuntu live cd.

After installing with the ALT cd the same behaviour is observed when trying to boot the os, that is you get a blank screen. Once the splash option has been removed the os will boot.

note: when you get a blank screen, the pc appears to be locked up / frozen. Switching to a terminal (ctrl alt F1) does not work.

system specs:
intel Core2 duo 6600
2 gb ram
asus p5n-e sli motherboard
nvidia 8800 gtx
creative xfi
2405FPW monitor
