Bug Description

Binary package hint: glipper

I believe you're supposed to be able to set a key combination in Glipper preferences, and have that combination bring up your clip history.

This does not work. I can enter the key combination into the field in preferences, but no keys or combination of keys I enter there will bring up the clip list. The only way I can get it open is to click on the icon every time.

I'm using Gutsy and everything is updated. My glipper verson is glipper 0.95.1.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 or 9.04?

Hi,

I had the same issue with Glipper 1.0 and Ubuntu 8.04 . Just upgraded to 8.10 and problem persists, even after uninstalling and reinstalling glipper a few times (through apt-get). Going into preferences gives a text field where you can type the key combination, rather than the auto key combination (where you just press your key combo and it fills it in) found in System>Preferences>Keyboard Shortcuts for the OS. If I type in the Key Combination (such as Ctrl+Shift+V), it does not function.

The file located at /home/username/.gconf/apps/glipper/%gconf.xml is being updated, not immediately, but within a minute or two . Regardless, as the original post mentions, the only way to access the list is to click on the icon.

If you need any other info let me know, looking forward to using this again.

Well, I got it to work by restarting X, a workaround that looks to be pretty known. Also, didn't realize syntax for should not be Ctrl+Shift+V but <Ctrl>+<Shift>+V , had to manually remove the %gconf.xml to get it back to default to see correct syntax.

Thanks.

Also, an example of what that shortcut configuration string format would look like in the help document might help!
