Bug Description
Binary package hint: firefox
Currently then you download some file, download happens on the same process as browser itself. Even trying to close all Firefox windows leaving only download won't help.
Firefox isn't very stable for it crashes about 10 times a day. And crash aborts downloads.
I think Firefox should span separate process for downloads to avoid such things

Marking "Won't Fix", since upstream is adamant about not allowing two instances of Firefox to run with the same profile at the same time. See https:/ /bugzilla. mozilla. org/show_ bug.cgi? id=260107 .
As for aborting downloads, Firefox 3 has cross-session resumable downloads.
