Bug Description
Using Kubuntu 8.04 (development branch):
Starting Google Earth aplication take too many time in comparison with Debian, so I think the bug is not in Google Earth source, it is a problem of Kubuntu.
I have tested installing it directly using the script provided by Google, and also using the script "make-googleear
In addiction, konsole give me some output at Google Earth starting, i think this could be related with the problem:
###konsole output###
do_wait: drmWaitVBlank returned -1, IRQs don't seem to be working correctly.
Try running with LIBGL_THROTTLE_
###END#########
These lines do not appear in Debian.
Thanks.
Same problem with glxgears, Hardy Alpha 4 livecd, laptop with Via K8M800
ubuntu@ubuntu:~$ glxgears REFRESH and LIBL_SYNC_REFRESH unset.
