Bug Description

Binary package hint: adept-updater

Adept notifier (on AMD 64 bit Kubuntu Gutsy) indicates that there are some packages that need to be updated.

When I click on the icon to run Adept Updater, I not only see the packages that need to be upgraded, but also a lot of packages which are marked to be removed (screen shot attached)

As these include such things as mplayer and ffmpeg(which I know I need) and others such as a number of Gnome libraries (I do have some Gnome applications installed, despite using Kubuntu) this surely cannot be correct.

Anybody clicking "apply updates" without checking the list could well end up losing applications they want.

6 hours later...

Out of curiosity, I launched Adept Updater again and there are now no packages marked for removal, but quite a few more marked for upgrade.

Possibly some strange transient problem?

From your last comment it seems this is no longer an issue?

I haven't seen it since, so there's no reason why this can't be closed.

Worrying that it happened, as it could have had nasty consequences, but it seems stable since.

Thanks for your response. (Note: I'm marking this as Invalid purely on technical reasons. We can as well consider this as fixed.)
