Bug Description

Binary package hint: gimp

I use gimp 2.4.2-0ubuntu0.7.10.1 on Gusty

when try to scale image from 2048x1536 to 1x1, gimp crashes.
terminal output:
(script-fu:11476): LibGimpBase-WARNING **: script-fu: gimp_wire_read(): error
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

It also crash with cubic interpolation or none

steps to reproduce:
1) start gimp
2) make new image with 1 layer, size 2048x1536
3) click Image -> Scale image...
4) type '1' into width and height
5) press scale

I expected to get a 1x1 px image colored with an average color of the image.

I do not get this with my PPA version (2.4.4-1ubuntu1+ppa1). Instead, I get messed up scrollbars.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a ".crash" file. Please follow these instuctions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart.

If you are using Ubuntu with the Gnome desktop environment - launch nautilus and navigate to your /var/crash directory and double click on the crash report you wish to submit.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.
