Bug Description

Hardy doesn't use built in mcp55 nvidia nics. both nics worked fine gutsy. Tried a fresh install of gusty and nics worked. Upgraded to latest version of hardy and the nics stopped working. Disabled one nic in the bios and did a fresh install of hardy still not working. the nics are detected and i can assign an ip address to them. i ended up installing an old linksys pci network card to be able to connect to the net and my local network.

i can get the nvidia nics to work by doing the following from the command line
sudo modprobe -r forcedeth
sudo modprobe forcedeth msi=0 msix=0
sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart

i tried adding the following in /etc/modprobe.d/options

options forcedeth msi=0 msix=0

But it seems to bypass that file on startup or a reboot cause i have to use the command line again and do it manually

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 or 9.04?
