Bug Description

Binary package hint: rhythmbox

It's not possible to edit FLAC tags with Rhythmbox. Furthermore, in the "Properties" dialog, all fields are shown as editable, but do not receive keyboard input; this makes it impossible to tell whether there's a problem is with the file (permissions etc.) or with the application.

According to http://<email address hidden>/msg03367.html, this is blocked by the FLAC tag editing element not being ported to GStreamer 0.10.

This fix is still not present in Intrepid. It looks like the fix has been released to gst-plugins-good cvs, but wasn't released with 0.10.10.

Hello Hew, If the fix is at the upstream repository we also mark the bug as Fix Committed once the package containing the fix is available in Ubuntu the status is Fix Released, marking it back, thanks.

I think this is an important fix to have included in Intrepid. Since it hasn't been included in 0.10.10 for some reason, it's probably necessary to create a patch to fix this before Intrepid release.

I also noticed this, I thought it was a bug in Rhythmbox. It's great to hear that it'll be fixed in the upcoming release.

It's still not working for me. Make sure that it really is working for you. Sometimes you cannot edit the tags at all, but other times you can "apply" the changes, only to have them change back a couple of seconds later. Please try changing a tag and restarting rhythmbox to see if the changes stick.
