Hi Thomas
Thanks for your bug report, unfortunately the retracer service fails so if you could please try to obtain a backtrace http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash and attach the file to the bug report, will greatly help us in tracking down your problem.

Thanks in advance

Hi Thomas
Unfortunately the backtrace doesn't contain enough information to work on this issue, so please install the following packages, containing the debugging symbols needed to obtain an useful backtrace and try again: evolution-dbg, evolution-data-server-dbg, libgtkhtml3.14-dbg, libglib2.0-0-dbg, libgtk2.0-0-dbg, libgnomevfs2-0-dbg, libpango1.0-0-dbg, libgnomeui-0-dbg

if you add the repository mentioned in the previously posted link, please replace the -dbg for -dbgsym in the packages names.

Thanks in advance

Removed that one from

You might want to run `apt-get -f install' to correct these:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
  evolution-data-server-dbgsym: Depends: evolution-data-server (= 1.12.0-0ubuntu5) but 2.21.91-0ubuntu1 is to be installed
Conflicts: evolution-data-server-dbg but 2.21.91-0ubuntu1 is to be installed
evolution-dbgsym: Depends: evolution (= 2.12.0-0ubuntu5) but 2.21.90-0ubuntu1 is to be installed
Conflicts: evolution-dbg but 2.21.90-0ubuntu1 is to be installed
language-support-writing-en: Depends: openoffice.org-hyphenation-en-us but it is not going to be installed
  libglib2.0-0-dbgsym: Depends: libglib2.0-0 (= 2.14.1-1ubuntu1) but 2.15.5-0ubuntu1 is to be installed
  libgnomeui-0-dbgsym: Depends: libgnomeui-0 (= 2.20.0-0ubuntu1) but 2.21.91-0ubuntu2 is to be installed

Sorry about that! My bad. I had 1) gutsys repos in apt/sources.list and 2) not applied all upgrades available.

Anyways, I managed to install all packages and to get a new backtrace.

I got a new HDD and reinstalled the system. After this the problem was gone. Maybe it is something that should be fixed anyway but I cannot reproduce it any more.

Hi Thomas
I'm closing this report due your last comment about being fixed by a clean install, which could mean that there was some filesystem or file corruption that produce this crash, among other possible variables, anyway, if you are able to reproduce this issue please feel free to re-open this bug changing the status to "New" or file a new one.

Thanks
