Bug Description

Latest Gutsy/No relevant package known

This is a minor issue. When mounting an autofs share, the location reported is shown as "(null)" AFAIK trying to print a null pointer to a gstring somewhere.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Have a directory on a remote machine accessible via autofs.
2. Open your "Home Folder" under Places
3. Click File->Connect to Server...
4. Select Custom Location
5. Start typing in your path to the folder from step 1
    You should be auto-completing the path as you type
6. Press enter (without giving a name to use)
7. Observe the new item added to your Places list as having the format:
    <New folder> on (null)

You should be able to browse to the location and then unmount it fine, so it seems merely a case unaccounted for when gathering that one piece of data.

You might be able to pull the machine name from the path and use that instead. My autofs path is the default, /net/machine/path/to/folder so you might be able to pull "machine" out of the path and use that.

Originally I tried to do this via an NFS automount, so my path began /net/...machine../share but now I get an error message back that it couldn't display that directory, with the error "Nautilus cannot handle this kind of locations."

I tried the Samba version of the autofs directories, which begin /smb/... and get the same result.

I guess Nautilus tied up this particular loose end. It still would be useful if Nautilus could display autofs mounts in a visually appealing way, but this particular bug doesn't exist anymore to me.

I re-tested on the latest Hardy as of today.
