Bug Description

The packaged version i Kubuntu Hoary (0.5.3) is unable to logon to gmail. I
replaced it with the 0.5.3a in Debian testing, and everything is working fine. A
good candidate for Hoary Updates?

I can login but it won't remember my password: it remembers only 3 chars of it so after every restart I need to type in the password again.

I take my words back. As KCheckGmail site (http://kcheckgmail.sourceforge.net/help.html ) says:

Why does my password appears as three characters length?
KCheckGMail has a protection hack which makes it store the password in memory only when required (at login).
When it isn't needed (e.g. editing the settings) a 3 characters length string is used, keeping the real password safe.
There's nothing what to worry about this three characters length password, because even if you modify the settings the real password won't be touched. We care about your safety

And now it looks like it logons okay, It just requires the wallet to be opened..
