ypbind slows startup incredibly

Bug Description

After installing the package "nis", ypbind is being left unconfigured.
As a result, ypbind will search a server for more than 5 minutes at system startup.
This will prevent other services starting up, like cups, portmap daemon, cpufreq, powernowd, dhcp, tor and more.

Since no network has been established at that time, it will block working with the system. It starts too early.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 or 9.04?
