cannot open messages from within search window

Bug Description

Binary package hint: thunderbird

Gutsy 7.10 amd64
Thunderbird 2.0.0.12

Cannot open messages that show up in the search-window. Double clicking message or clicking "open" doesn't work. Nothing happens.
I can however open the same messages from the folder tree.
Sometimes thunderbird open up with nearly "blank" gui. After a restart the app this is usually ok.

I cannot reproduce it on hardy (architecture: i386). There everything works as it should. Both the open-button and the double-click work.

Yes, it's fine on my i386 gutsy 7.10 as well. but not on my new machine. I'm a total beginner so maybe I'm missing something here.

So maybe it's architecture-related (amd64).
But I am also no expert on architectures and how/if they have effects on programs at this level...
Is there something else besides the different architecture that is "special" about the amd64 machine in comparison to your i386 machine, which does not have the bug?
Otherwise I am leaving this one to another bug triager who is more experienced in architecture-related stuff.
Anyway, thanks for your info.

Hi. I just installed ubuntu-studio on the same 64 machine. Thunderbird works fine with that kernel. No bugs.
