Bug Description
When trying to remove scim, I lost the ability of typing accentuated letters by typping the accent and then the letter like it is usually the case.
This affects gnome (maybe X).
for typing â ê î ô û or öïüë I have to use altGr + a key instead of '^' or '¨' then 'letter to be accentuated'
Regards

Exactly the same here.
First scim has the same problems as its equivalent in Windows. Problems which has the power to drive me crazy and that I was glad to let aside by running on Linux. It's clearly not a step forward to me. Fortunately, I could remove it.
Which I did and since I can't write accentuated letters as Zenigata said (who I thank by the way, I didn't know the AltGr+key shortcuts).
Hope it'll be fixed shortly, it's really annoying.
But Ubuntu is still the best! (I just hope it'll not turn into a Windows-like OS just to attract more people, there is Linspire for that...)
