Hi,

Was this an upgrade from gutsy or dapper,
or was it just an upgrade from in hardy?

If it was one of the former could you please
attach the contents of /var/log/dist-upgrade/
to the bug. If it was the latter then please
attach the contents of /var/log/apt/

Thanks,

James

James,

Not sure if these logs are still going to be of much use to you since I
ended up using aptitude to "fix" and then _force_ the upgrade. The
system seems to be working again now after some fighting. Hopefully
something useful can be gained from these since it was an upgrade from
Gutsy to the Hardy beta.

Regards,
Ian

Ian,

Apparently when you sent those files as email attachments it was before Launchpad would accept them. You can either try sending them again as attachments, or go to the link at the bottom of this email and attach them on the website.

Thanks!

I have experienced the problem with libc6 configuration failing also - I will attach a screenshot I made that shows the console and the error message dialogue box.

This was during attempting to upgrade from Kubuntu 7.10 to Kubuntu 8.04beta. The last time I tried this happened as well and I ended up reinstalling 7.10 from disc and restoring my backed up data. This meant I didn't have the information about this bug at the time to report it. This time I was hoping it wouldn't happen but ready for it if it did.

Thank you.

Hi,

Do you use nvidia drivers? If so then this is a duplicate of
bug 205079.

Yes I do use NVIDIA drivers so my apologies for this, I did not spot the duplication.

Thank You.

Hi,

No problem.

It would be useful if you could test the updated packages
that fix the other report and confirm there that they work
for you.

Thanks,

James
