I am also seeing this issue on baremetal (Intel NUC), Hyper-V, and LXD VM attempting to connect via RDP from a Windows 11 computer.

I was able to capture the following error coming from gnome-shell logs after initiating an RDP connection:

JS ERROR: TypeError: this._button is undefined
_createSessionMenuButton@resource:///org/gnome/shell/gdm/loginDialog.js:663:13

If it would be helpful I can submit a separate bug report.

NEW Remote Login - Ubuntu 24.04 LTS Noble Numbat (development branch) - Log in to blank desktop with almost no functionality

Remote logged on using Remmina RDP to the 24.04 Desktop Remote Logon and:

Mouse works, kind of.

I can click on and open the calendar.

Open and toggle Accessibility settings.

Open the System Tray (pictured) and:

Power Off/Log off, disconnect the network, toggle Dark Style (no effect), adjust Volume, and Power Mode has zero effect.

Note that Remote Desktop Control for the logged in desktop works on port 3390, as it has in previous releases of Ubuntu on port 3389.

If there's any logs or reports I can muster from this machine to help the devs with this issue, please point me to info on how I can retrieve them to post here, which I'll gladly attempt.
