You have not yet specified a problem.

I have an intel 965, X3100.
Synaptic Claims intel xorg installed, but glxinfo shows that I am with mesa.
If I try to change it, even with Screen and Graphics, It comes back to mesa.
That's the problem users with laptops with X3100 integrated have.

Ok, not really sure if this is a configuration problem or a bug so I don't know where to put it, reassigning to the driver for now.

You still haven't specified the problem. My laptop has the same chip and it works. Mesa provides the opengl libraries and driver for the intel driver and others.
