hardy upgrade breaks on tzdata

Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

I attempted to upgrade to hardy. This broke with tzdata. Output of the upgrade process as well as the contents of /var/log/dist-upgrade/.

I have since rolled back to an image that I took before the upgrade attempt.

1.

root@sodium:~ # lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 7.10
Release: 7.10

2.

update-manager version 1:0.81

3.

I expected the upgrade to proceed normally as it has done on several other systems.

4.

The upgrade failed on tzdata. See the attached error.txt

Thanks a lot for the defails, I think this is a duplicate of #217435 (or the other way around :)

Could you please try the upgrade again once liblocale-gettext-perl (1.05-2ubuntu1) enters the archive? That would be most appreciated!

I can successfully upgrade 7.10->8.04 with the same image that I used to generate this bug report.
