nm-applet can't connect to wireless network during the first connection

Bug Description

Distribution: Hardy Heron update on 4/4/2008
nm-applet version 0.6.6

When i open the first session, very often network manager proposes me to fill password for connexion. if i close the window and click on the nm icon in the panel, the connexion is done without any problem.

I assume that keyring manager is not available at that moment.

In my point of view it's more a bug than a feature ;-)

Regards,

Edouard

I have the same problem. First time I get prompted for the pass phrase, I hit cancel and manually tell NM to connect to my router. Usually it connects after trying 2 or 3 times. This not only happens when I try to connect to my router but also with other routers.

I'm experiencing the same problem in Kubuntu/64 I add the settings in kde network settings & it wont connect upon reboot there are no settings for the WEP key. I put the settings in & reboot & they are gone again! I remember the settings being in /etc/network/interfaces but that now only has references loopback, I had to add a entry for eth0 to get it to DHCP.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 or 9.04?

Im having the exacly same problem with hard heron. The nm-applet see all networks but are unable to join any that have a keyword or password. I simple keeps asking for the password over and over again. However, it can connect to networks without pass, but if I change the network settings to have a pass I doesnt work again.

And, for networks that it could connect before this problem, even with passwords, it can connect!!!! Just new ones or networks for which the password has changed.
