Bug Description

Breezy's latest epiphany (as of 9/13) complains about unsaved form elements when
closing tabs, even when form elements are indeed saved.

Try:

1) Open two tabs
2) Go to Ubuntuforums.org, make a post of any sort (i.e. typed into the post
textbox and hit Submit).
3) Try to close the tab you used to visit the forums

Behavior:

Epiphany tells you that you have "unsaved form changes" though you know you just
dismissed them!

Actually, this happens all over the forum.

Try to open this link in a new tab: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=65291

After it loads, try to close it. You'll get the alert. Being the official GNOME
browser, this is a fairly serious issue, so I've bumped up the severity. Sorry
in advance if that's not appropriate.

Thanks for your bug. The bug is rather a "normal" one because this not the
default browser for Ubuntu. This is known upstream:

Thanks for clarifying this...

It doesn't look too hopeful that they'd get this sorted out before Breezy's
release... If a patch is available after Breezy is released, will it be packaged
via breezy-updates? If not, would you be willing to work with the Ubuntu
Backports Team to build a backported with the fix?

Depending if that's a simple patch and if that bother many people. The bug is
here for ages and there is no a lot of bugs about it and it's specific to some
websites

Well, in the meantime, I personally believe it'd be a good idea to disable the
Unsaved Form Elements warning at the source code level -- especially since our
forums are affected by the issue.

There are a marked number of people shifting from Firefox to Epiphany as they
realize that epiphany renders almost twice as fast as Firefox on Breezy, for
some weird reason...

This issue is still present with latest Epiphany package on Dapper, 2.14.0-0ubuntu2.

There's still a problem on google maps, however it should be fixed for lots of websites.

Using Ephiphany 2.30.6, and this bug still is not fixed. Google maps will not load any maps.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, I am closing it because the bug has been fixed in the latest development version of Ubuntu - Precise Pangolin. It won't be fixed in previous versions of Ubuntu because the package doesn't fit the requirements for backporting. See https://help.ubuntu.com/community/UbuntuBackports for more information.
