Bug Description

I have Pleomax PSP usb speakers which works fine with exaile, totem player, audacity,pidgin...but not with some others like VLC, firefox. With VLC and firefox the sound goes into the jack speakers.

I have tried to configure firefox and VLC but in vain.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

Hi IanW,

For the moment, it is still an issue but maybe 8.10 will solve it with pulse audio because the usb speahers works fine and I only have to find how to force applications to use it.

I have tryed intrepid ibex 8.10. Now there's no sound at all!

padevchooser/pavucontrol would have been used to select the output audio device, but both are deprecated in jaunty. Use the Volume Control instead.
