Bug Description

In "Power Management Preferences" dialog of Power Manager 2.20.0 I have chosen an event "shutdown" when battery power is critically low (see attachment).
Acctually this event never fires up. After I get battery notifications of low or critical batery time nothing happes.
After that in about 5 or 10 minutes (depends on what I am doing) the sistem and computer just collapse. Like on desktop computer when power goes of.
Why my sistem does not shutdown on power critical ?

I do not know where is the catch if there is any. Or this is just problem with my notebook.

I have HP Compay nx7010 notebook computer.

That is possible. Could you please attach a log of what GNOME Power
manager is doing when the power runs out?

I can confirm this behavior as well (Dell e1505). I do not have a valid power mgr log to provide however.

can this be a duplicate of bug 135548?

Changed in gnome-power-manager:
importance: Undecided → Low

I found this behavior as well in a Sony Vaio VGN-FS415M and Hardy Heron 32 bit (kernel 2.6.24-19-generic)

In my acer aspire with the latest updates (hardy heron 64 bit, kernel 2.6.24-19-generic, gnome-power-manager 2.22.1-1) something changed: in fact now I can see the battery notifications of low or critical battery even if my system still collapse as well without shutdown procedure (I set, in power-manager settings the event shutdown at low battery).
