Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

Using Hardy current to the repositories as of April 14.

I have Compiz enabled
and used simple-ccsm to set ring switcher as my switcher under the effects tab
and compizconfig-settings-manager to "Allow Mouse Selection" (under Ring Switcher -> Misc. Options tab)

Up until a few days ago (possibly with the April 11 updates, though I don't remember exactly) the mouse selection with alt-tab worked fine.

Now using it crashes Compiz (if I then go to Appearance/Vistual Effects its set to "None"; setting it back to "Custom" gets it working again). Curiously, I am not getting any error messages when this happens.

Aha! When it crashes, it adds a .crash file in /var/crash

Oh, also, I don't know if this helps or not, but I had previously also set <Alt>Tab to invoke "Next Window (All Workspaces)" and <Super>Tab to invoke "Next Window" (I swapped them). Thus when I said that I was using alt-tab, it was to use ring switcher across all workspaces.

Thanks for your bugreport.

I can confirm this crash with your instructions. Upstream (Danny is my hero) fixed it a couple of minutes ago in compiz git.
