Bug Description

Hi,

This new upstream release has many bug fixes and a few features. The NEWS entry is:

Bug fixes:

 o Use g_malloc/g_strdup/g_free (Jonh Wendell)
 o Fix z-buffer depth when using scaling (Dan Berrange)
 o Fix makecontext() for 64-bit hosts (Dan Berrange)
 o Fix more endianness issues (Dan Berrange)
 o Fix various compile warnings (Atsushi SAKAI)
 o Be more flexible in protocol version negotation (Jonh Wendell, Jin Choi)
 o Work-arounds for ISO_Left_Tab (Hiroyuki Kaguchi)
 o Propagate ke press events (Anthony Liguori)

New features:

 o Use glib for debugging and always enable it (Jonh Wendell)
 o GObject properties (Jonh Wendell)
 o Accessor to determine if we're in absolute mode (Anthony Liguori)

This will close a couple of bugs, bug 206227 (which makes Vinagre unusable) and bug 212504.
Also, I'll backport a fix from hg to fix bug 207205 (<http://gtk-vnc.codemonkey.ws/hg/outgoing.hg/rev/fb2b0584c87e>)

The debian/changelog entry looks like this:

   * New upstream release with API additions. No API break:
     - Fix more endianness issues. LP: #212504.
     - Be more flexible in protocol version negotation: LP: #206227.
   * debian/patches/from_upstream_fix_crash_on_connection_closing.patch:
     - Patch from upstream, fixes a crash when closing the connection
       in the middle of an update. LP: #207205.
   * debian/rules:
     - Updated the shlibs version due to the new API.

We are going to test this as thorough as we can so it's easier and safer to make a decision (either positive or negative).

I've uploaded it to https://launchpad.net/~pochu/+archive. We should specially test that neither Vinagre nor virt-manager/virt-viewer have any regressions, and that the mentioned bugs are fixed.

Connecting to a mac, updating gtk-vnc did change the error message to "Authentication method to host "xxx.xxx.xxx:5900" is unsupported. (30)", but did not solve the issue.
(I guess I did not need to reboot after applying the package).

In fact this new version seems to cause severe regression in virt-manager: with the pointer grabbed I now:
- often have a double cursor
- some keys seems not to get grabbed (such as tab and sometimes return) which has caused me to shutdown vm I was working in while type in the terminal of this VM...

Setting to invalid as this is unsuitable due to those regressions and the fact that the update didn't seem to fix one of the bugs it was supposed to.
