Bug Description

When a user mounts an NTFS disk using the Disks Manager, the disk is mounted fine, but since NTFS by default only allows root to read the disk, the user then can't read the disk they just mounted.

Tested personally and the issue seems resolved in updated dapper install. Are you still experiencing the issue?

apologies. when i tested i clicked "Browse" button from the disks-admin application which launched nautilus as root! When nautilus session is launched as my normal user i can verify this bug in current dapper builds of gst.

When I plug in an NTFS formatted external USB hard drive and try to open it in the file browser I get "Unable to mount the selected volume. mount: only root can mount /dev/sda1 on /media/sda1. I can manually create the mount point and mount it with sudo (or as root), and it seems to work after that.

Marking as invalid, as disks-admin was removed from gnome-system-tools in ubuntu a long time ago.
