Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

The combination of certain ATI chipsets plus compiz yields 100% cpu in Xorg after resume on Hardy. See https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/197209 for some details. Filed here against g-p-m because someone in that thread considered the 100% cpu issue a separate one, and because we can't seem to get the /etc/acpi/suspend.d scripts to execute for us to implement a workaround.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10 or 9.04?
