I can confirm that the hyperspace screensaver hack bombs out on my "savage" equipped laptop as well. "top" shows it starts to allocate a lot of memory. Running with "valgrind" it complains about "Conditional jump or move depends on uninitialized value(s)". Last call reported by valgrind before the screen froze was "vbo_exec_vtx_flush".

Here's one valgrind log that ended with Illegal Instruction. On other runs it just keeps eating memory (as reported to ~200MB Virtual Size and ~50MB RSS in top).
