Xubuntu: workspace is saved and reappears on future login despite "Settings" set to not save

Bug Description

Xubuntu 8.04: despite not clicking "save workspace on log out" option under Settings panel in future login the workspace is loaded with all the original windows opened.

My guess is that you've stored a session at some point, and that it restarts every time.
You can try to clear the cache to see if it still happens (remove or backup ~/.cache).

I tried looking for the "saved workspace" option and can't find it. Are you talking about "save sessions" instead?

This same behavior exists on Intrepid, and its annoying enough I would consider it a bug as well. We've considered changing this behavior for Jaunty, but we won't be changing this for Intrepid or Hardy. Marking WONTFIX.
