OK, after telling Synaptic to remove Plucker and PCSX (it was greyed out in the update manager), everything worked out. I ended up reinstalling PCSX, but I think theres still something wrong with Plucker.

note: apt-term.log wouldn't come along for the ride (Permission Denied)

Here is what causes the error:

This needs to be investigated if that is something that needs to be fixed for 8.04.1
