Bug Description

Binary package hint: network-manager

On resume from suspend, my laptop occasionally fails to see any network devices attached (via Network Manager).

Ubuntu 8.04.
Inspiron 9300 w/ipw2200 wireless card and b44 10/100 NIC.

It might be a consequence of the device names not remaining consistent on resume (whenever this happens, my wireless card is named eth0, when prior and on normal boots it is always eth1, and my wired card is named eth1_rename, as opposed to eth0) - I am unsure.

As I've had experience with previous NM bugs in this way, I thought I'd try restarting dbus - on doing so, nm-applet died and did not come back until I manually restarted it.

network-manager 0.6.6-0ubuntu5
network-manager-gnome 0.6.6-0ubuntu3

I believe this bug is not Network Manager, but something in the kernel.

Probably the sdhci driver, if I had a guess, based on the attached syslog from the next time this occurred (and only my wireless card, and not my wired card, failed to appear).
