Bug Description

Ubuntu 8.04 updated.
I have a window share mounted by smbmount command.

I can't copy a Openoffice file (.odt) from a folder to another folder within that smb share if the file is opened in OpenOffice.

Step to reproduce:
1. Mount a smb share using smbmount command from a terminal.
2. Open a odt file that is inside a folder in the samba share.
3. Select that file from nautilus and copy it with Ctrl+C.
4. Open another folder in the smb share.
5. Paste the file with Ctrl+V.
6. It opens gvfs copy window but it does nothing and it remains opened (a file is created in folder but is has 0 byte as size).

If I repeat these steps and the file is not opened, no problem at all.
If I repeat these steps on local filesystem no problem at all.

I'm not sure if this is actually a bug, isn't this how network file locking is supposed to work?

openoffice doesn't use gvfs, that's not a gvfs issue

Can you still reproduce this on openoffice.org 1:2.4.1-1ubuntu2? I can't get it to not allow me to copy the file opened by OOo.

Thanks,

@Chris

I can't reproduce it anymore. It has probably been fixed in openoffice last updates.
That's nice.

Thank you.
