Bug Description

Binary package hint: flightgear

When I run flightgear, everything seems to load fine, but when it goes from the splash screen to the plane, it gives the weird graphics as shown in the attachment.
I use an ATI (obviously) Radeon 9600.
glxgears works.
fglrx installed with jockey.
I use a fresh Kubuntu Hardy i686 install. (packages are up2date)

I think has to do with the maximum texture resolution, judging by what I found with google.

This may be an issue with flightgear AND ubuntu. I have flightgear working now. I followed the instructions here: http://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-627314.html

Choose the second menu, then the fourth option down (the menu may not be readable), uncheck 'Use Point Sprites for Runway Lights'. I also had to disable compiz, but flightgear runs like a champ now!

HTH,
Joe

Nope.
Does'nt work, as the window doesn't give any visual feedback, I can't see the menu.
It stays the same.
Could have to do with my weird Compiz stuff though.

I have Compiz turned off and still get this. HOWEVER I can confirm that Joe Sircy above has hit the fix!!!

Attached is the location of the menu item. It's a bit of blind thrashing to find it - but it can be done.

Now, if you all will excuse me... up up and away!!!
