Hi mangar,

Thank you for reporting this bug. This is pretty late, for a response, but could you please report on whether this bug still exists when using the latest Dapper kernel modules? Please let us know if this is no longer a problem, or, if it is still a problem, any debug info would be welcome.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

hi Carthik,
using the "radeon" driver, celestia works without any problem.
as of now, i can't provide information whether celestia will work using
the "fglrx" drivers, beacuase of bug #5264.

I just noticed that this is the same backtrace I get with extensive openoffice scrolling + fglrx + Xgl/compiz + Mobility Radeon 9000:

https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/linux-restricted-modules-2.6.17/+bug/63830

I guess this is an fglrx bug?

since fglrx doesn't support radeon 9000/9200 any more, and
the default is the oss driver, i guess this bug can / should be closed.
