nautilus freezes system while creating thumbnails for many svg files

Bug Description

Nautilus of Gnome 2.12 has problems when creating many svg thunmnails, which can lead to making the machine unresponsive.

I downloaded the OpenClipArt Library (www.openclipart.org). When I browse the files using nautilus, the system becomes pretty unusable when nautilus generates thumbnails in a directory where many .svg files reside. And after a while, it hangs completely (still a lot of hard disk activity). I found this bug in gnome bugzilla which seems related http://bugs.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=316450. but in my case nautilus doesn't crash, but it pretty much freezes the system.

I am using Ubuntu Breezy Preview, so its the 2.12 Nautilus Version.

3 Things:
1. Maybe disable svg preview until this issue is resolved.
2. How many images does nautilus try to thumbnail concurrently.
3. Should I file a gnome-bugzilla-bug as well, or does the bug report here suffice.

Thanks for the report. Your bug is VERY closely related to #2288 - which was reported to GNOME BTS (the bug you mentioned) - are you ok with marking as a duplicate?
