Bug Description

whatever the case,i set my keyboard layout as US,but there
was no profile for multimedia keyboard(generic 121 key)
ya i have 17 extra keys but only sound keys works.i live in
india a brand called "intex" made this slim multimedia keyboard.none works in ubuntu but xp detects all the extra keys(shutdown, search, browser back, refresh, etc, also multimedia players stop/play/pause)
should i check for each layout? or
will it detect by default.india keyboard shows
(surprisingly) only regional layout, india too has multimedia and generic/standard keyboard.
also there is trouble with mouse scroll wheel it doesnt work
properly in ubuntu applications like pdf viewer, firefox.

No problem. Can you answer the following please: Which version of Ubuntu are you installing? Also what keyboard layout/variant do you have that is not available during installation? Is the keyboard setup properly *after* installation? Is there an option after installation to choose the keyboard layout you use?

For the problem with the mouse please file another bug report, as that is a separate issue.

There is no layout for multimedia keyboards during install. The installer asks which country you live in, your language and the key layout. You can only use multimedia keys after installation, there isn't much point in being able to use it before... Please follow the installer choosing your country, key layout, etc, and after you have installed, if the multimedia keys don't work as expected then report back. Thank you :)
