Bug Description

When compositor is enabled, with or without shadows and I try to log out of
GNOME, the logout options don't appear on the screen and I can't do anything
until I press ESC.

This happens with Metacity/Xfwm4/Openbox in Ubuntu 5.10.

I also have this annoying bug.
Gandalf resolve it in is compiz repo by patching gnome-session.
I attach the actual patch for the 2.16 version.

Will this patch work with xcompmgr, or will it require (as mentioned in bug 59244) one to add GSM_NO_GRAB_SERVER to .gnomerc or patch xcompmgr to set it?

This is actually the same patch, i didn't see that gandalf reported a bug.
I can't say for xcompmgr since i never use it, but you should try.

This issue has been fixed, you can read bug #59244 about it. Marking that one as duplicated since the other bug has extra details and the patch whi has been commited
