Bug Description

Binary package hint: xfdesktop4

XFCE isn't supporting XDG submenu entries in the user's home config correctly. The most obvious manifestation is with applications installed via Wine. Instead of being in the Wine menu they show up in "Other" including Wine Notepad that is included with the Wine package. This doesn't happen with Gnome. It occurs with Hardy and Intrepid Alpha 2.

According to the XFCE web site it should be supporting the desktop menu spec:
http://www.xfce.org/about/features

Another report of the problem:

I did not find any solution to this problem in the XFCE Wiki or forums.

Thank you for reporting this bug. This is being worked upstream. since the menu placement is dependent on the .desktop files normally provided with each application, XFCE will be in compliance when all programs provide the menu entry files. The issue with wine was reported and is being worked by the upstream packager on https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/wine/+bug/197234 . If this answers your questions, please change status to invalid to close this bug report.

Thanks again for reporting your bugs.
