The version is language-pack-es (1:8.04+20080708)
I tried reinstalling it as you said and it works. Thanks!
This should be done ALWAYS on each firefox update automatically i think.

How can this be patched?

Hi atri,

I experienced the same behavior today with a fresh install of 8.04.
The problem arises that once you updated Firefox to the newest security release, the
language add-ons from the package "language-pack-gnome-{your language}" are no longer compatible.
You can resolve this by adding the Hardy-proposed repository via the GUI or command line interface
and executing a corresponding upgrade.

I'm confirming this bug, as this affects a lot of Ubuntu users. ubuntu-updates repositories should have compatible "language-pack-gnome-{your language}" packages when firefox-3.0 updates are released in ubuntu-security repositories.
Forcing users to add the hardy-proposed repository and manually executing a language-pack-gnome-* upgrade is a nonsense.

I think this problem would be easier to solve if firefox-3.0 translations would be packaged separately, like firefox 2.x translations - why users should be forced to install big GNOME language pack package after each firefox update?

agreed, we should release a version that will work for all 3.0 to -security. Arne, can you look into this?
