Xfce under Kubuntu 8.04 PPC tries to open PNG and GIF with Thunderbird

Bug Description

Binary package hint: thunar

After installing Kubuntu 8.04.1 on a 300 MHz Clamshell G3 iBook and modifying the software sources such that only repositories from ports.ubuntu.com were used, I installed xubuntu-desktop. Now, when using Xfce, by default Xfce tries to launch Thunderbird to open PNG and GIF Image Files, instead of The GIMP or another picture editor/viewer.

This bug has been fixed in hardy-updates AFAIK. Did you enabled this repository and done the upgrades?

The computer has all the updates installed, with both update repositories (normal and security) enabled; I had actually updated it before filing this bug.

If the fix has been released, perhaps there is just a bit of lag after the patch release for an "official" supported architecture before others like PPC get it?
