Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase

When using a panel size of 48 pixels in KDE 3.5.9, the system tray wrapped to 2 lines of icons, exactly the same as the Quick Launcher. In 3.5.10, however, it goes to one line at 48 pixels. A panel size of >50 pixels is needed to get a two-line system tray. The Quick Launcher, however, doesn't go to one line until 34 pixels. It appears the "Normal" pixel size is 46 pixels, at which size the Quick Launcher has two rows but the system tray only has one. I think that the system tray should have two rows down to at least 46 pixels, matching the 2-line layout of the Quick Launcher at the "Normal" size. This is more consistent as well as more space efficient.

We updated kdebase in hardy-backports to deal with some tray issues. Is this still a problem?

The cutoff is now 46 pixels, so "Normal" still has a one-line tray. I wouldn't say there's any problem, but it seems like there's plenty of room for two lines of tray icons at the "Normal" size of 46. To me this is a UI/usability issue, so I don't want to make any decisions on it, but I do think two-lines saves space and matches the QuickLauncher better. Consider me neutral.

I'm going to mark this as won't fix then.
