Bug Description

After setting up Ubuntu 5.10 it asks me for my user name and password. I can
enter my user name (I know it is the right user name), but when it asks me for
my password I cannot enter anything. No matter what keys I type, it remains
blank after the prompt for the password. Any ideas? I can get into the desktop
with the live cd and like what I see. I was amazed that the sound and internet
worked right without having to do very much. I was happy when I plugged in my
card reader and it was able to read the card without any setup. I would like to
be able to install and login instead of having to use the live cd and loose my
settings I have put in everytime I turn off the computer. Thanks for your help

Hi, this is not a bug but a feature so that other people looking over your shoulder can not see how many characters your passwords has. You just type your password and press <return>, you will then be logged in.
